Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
GeoLens is operated by Carto Concepts, LLC, the data controller for the hosted services covered by this policy (getgeolens.com, docs.getgeolens.com, and the demo at demo.getgeolens.com). You can reach us using the details in the Contact section below.
What we collect
When you create an account or sign in to a GeoLens instance operated by us (such as demo.getgeolens.com), we collect:
- Your name and email address, provided at sign-up or via OAuth.
- Basic usage information (pages visited, features used) to help us improve GeoLens.
If you self-host GeoLens on your own infrastructure, this policy does not apply. You control all data collected by your instance.
Why we collect it
We use your name and email to:
- Identify your account and authenticate you.
- Send occasional product updates about GeoLens (you can opt out at any time).
- Respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Website analytics
Our websites (getgeolens.com, docs.getgeolens.com) and the hosted demo (demo.getgeolens.com) are served through Cloudflare, which adds Cloudflare's cookieless Web Analytics performance beacon — aggregate page-traffic measurement with no cookies and no cross-site tracking. That is the only analytics we run: no Google Analytics, no advertising trackers, and nothing that requires a cookie consent banner.
Data we do not collect
GeoLens does not include telemetry or analytics by default. The self-hosted software ships with no tracking, no call-home, and no third-party integrations unless you configure them. None of the website analytics described above exists in the GeoLens software itself.
Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
